If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Clemens Kois’s body of work not only speaks volumes, it speaks for itself.
A visualist by nature, Clemens conceives and communicates ideas – both abstract and concrete - through images. Photography, drawing, painting, and design are the worlds he calls his own.
Clemens got his first camera at the age of 7 and the two quickly became inseparable. His insatiable curiosity was only magnified by the lens he was gifted. Clemens’s trusty companion was to follow him as he moved from Salzburg to Rome to Stuttgart, Vienna and NY. Having formally studied photography and taken painting, design, and photo workshops with the likes of Kiki Kogelnik, Paolo Piva, and Nan Goldin, Clemens quickly found work turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Choosing a life by design, Clemens Kois currently divides his time between Salzburg, New York and the world. His penchant for collecting all things cool, odd, vintage and beautiful helps generate inspiration for his personal and professional projects. His greatest life’s work to date: his 3 endlessly entertaining kids.
